This policy explains how MAR Consulting LLC DBA Intrepidata.io ("Intrepidata", "we", "us", or "our") handles personal information when you visit intrepidata.io, contact us about our data engineering services, or take part in identity checks that we request for our own business relationships. MAR Consulting LLC is responsible for the purposes of those checks and the personal information we use.
For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
1. Information we collect
The information involved depends on how you interact with us:
- Inquiries and business relationships: your name, business contact details, organization, correspondence, and information you provide about a project.
- Website delivery: hosting and resource providers may receive your IP address, browser information, and requests for pages or resources when you visit this website.
- Identity checks, when requested: identifying and contact details, government-issued identity documents and their contents, and proof of address.
- Facial verification, when included in a check: photographs, selfies or video, and biometric information derived from facial images.
- Verification records: results, fraud indicators, information from relevant screening sources, and records of notices and consent.
Identity verification may collect information directly from you, from us, or from sources used to validate the information you provide.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to answer inquiries, establish and provide services, confirm the identity of people involved in our business relationships, protect against impersonation and fraud, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on the basis relevant to the purpose: taking steps toward or performing a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting our business, a legal obligation, or your consent. Where separate consent is required, including for certain uses of biometric information, we request it before that processing takes place.
3. Identity verification and Sumsub
We use Sumsub as an identity verification provider for checks that we request. Sumsub processes information on our behalf to assess identity documents, verify identity, and perform the checks included in your verification process. We receive verification results and may access supporting information needed to review the check. Intrepidata is responsible for decisions about its own business relationships.
Sumsub also acts independently for certain purposes described in its own notices, including security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, and service development, which may include model training. Its notices explain those uses and the associated retention and privacy rights.
Please review:
- Sumsub Notice of Personal Data Processing
- Sumsub Privacy Notice for Service Delivery
- Sumsub Biometrics Processing Consent for U.S. Residents
Before information is submitted to Sumsub, the verification process must provide the applicable notices and request any required acknowledgment or consent. Visiting this website or reading this policy does not give consent to biometric processing. Please submit identity documents through the verification process provided to you, rather than by email.
4. Biometric information and consent
If your check includes facial verification, Sumsub may compare a facial image with an identity document and check whether the person is live and the image is authentic. These checks may derive facial geometry or other biometric identifiers from images. A photograph or video is not itself the same as a derived biometric identifier.
Required biometric consent is requested separately in the verification process, including the applicable consent for U.S. residents. We use biometric information for identity and fraud checks, rather than advertising, and do not sell, lease, or trade it. You can ask about alternatives or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Without information or consent necessary for a check, we may be unable to complete it or proceed with the related business relationship.
6. Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, our business relationship, applicable recordkeeping requirements, or legal claims. We then delete it or make it no longer identifiable. You can contact us to ask about the retention criteria that apply to your information.
Biometric information is subject to its own retention and destruction requirements; a need to keep a verification result does not automatically require keeping biometric identifiers. Information processed by Sumsub for us is governed by our instructions and applicable law. Information Sumsub retains independently is governed by its own notices, including the jurisdiction-specific biometric retention terms linked above.
We use appropriate safeguards and limit access to people and providers who need information for the purposes described here. No method of transmission or storage can guarantee complete security.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or a restriction of processing; object to certain processing; withdraw consent for future processing based on consent; or raise a complaint with a privacy regulator. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or address legal claims.
Send requests about Intrepidata's use of your information to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You can also ask us to review a verification result you believe is incorrect. Requests about Sumsub's independent processing can be directed to [email protected].
